Oh Israel Israel - A Prayer

There are just too many verses flying through my head to put into a status...  There are so many Scriptures pointing to Israel as God's beloved children, chosen (by no means because of their greatness but because He wanted to) to be His special people, persecuted and rejected by the world since their birth as a nation, and the ones for whom Jesus came FIRST!  Oh that they would see Jesus for all that He is and accomplished on their behalf!  Oh that they would see how much He loves them!  Yes, these verses are thousands of years old BUT the Lord described in them is the very same.  He does not change nor, correspondingly, do His promises...

These are just a very few that have come to my mind from prior weeks/months of reading and studying (there are definitely way more that are even more applicable but for now these are the ones that came to mind):

2 Chronicles 7 : 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
He HEARS us!  He is listening and He hears!

2 Chronicles 6:34-40   “When your people go to war against their enemies, wherever you send them, and when they pray to you toward this city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name, then hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause. “When they sin against you—for there is no one who does not sin—and you become angry with them and give them over to the enemy, who takes them captive to a land far away or near; and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity and say, ‘We have sinned, we have done wrong and acted wickedly’; and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name; then from heaven, your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their pleas, and uphold their cause. And forgive your people, who have sinned against you.
“Now, my God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayers offered...
Solomon was speaking of the temple that he built for God's glory and His "presence" because that was how God was able to dwell among men.  Now, because of Christ, we can have the Holy Spirit within us THUS God among us THUS no need for a temple or praying towards a place.  We can speak with God anywhere, anyone, facing wherever we wish. : )  Oh God!  How kind of you! Thank you!

Jeremiah 33: 2-3 This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know...'
Oh God, help us! This world is crazy.

Jeremiah 32: 17-22“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. 18 You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the parents’ sins into the laps of their children after them. Great and mighty God, whose name is the Lord Almighty, 19 great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve. 20 You performed signs and wonders in Egypt and have continued them to this day, in Israel and among all mankind, and have gained the renown that is still yours. 21 You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror. 22 You gave them this land you had sworn to give their ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Oh Lord, please be with your beloved people- Israel. This is an even harder time for them than the usual.  Give them wisdom.  Give them strength.  May they turn to You, their great God, Creator of heaven and earth and, furthermore, their SUSTAINER.  Thank you that despite what happens in this crazy life You NEVER CHANGE, and therefore, neither do Your promises of hope, life everlasting, forgiveness, and, one day, a heaven where EVERYTHING is put to right as we stand before Your great throne.  Help us while we walk this broken world.  Help us to love as You have so greatly loved, to the point of giving Your life, and to stand for those things which are irrefutable.  Your eternal Truths.
