Dry Shampoo?

This is merely a note to myself.

I love how pinterest works with its own bulletin boards for every and anything under the sun...well, this blog is probably gonna turn out to be something more like pinterest than a legit blog.

I found this "article" while scanning the BLDG25 blog at Free People and am intrigued.  As most of you who know me know during the summer, its hard to get me to take a real shower. (EW..yeah whatever you know you've done it.) The pool, lawn hose and sprinklers are usually enough.  But ever since I've heard about this dry shampoo phenomenon I've wondered and being the thrifty person I am (or perhaps cheap-skate?) I don't want to pay that money for a product of unknown quality.  So here is the blog link and the idea.  Thank you Free People bloggers for the tip! http://blog.freepeople.com/2012/10/diy-dry-shampoo-dark-light-hair/

Look at the birds of the air...

...and in my case they were red-winged black birds rushing above me.. I had just begun a walk (I mean, why run when you can walk on a beautiful day?!) through our cornfields when there began a rustling in the stalks.  Suddenly, dozens of black birds exploded out of our corn.  I stopped.  They circled.  Back & forth, dipping & turning as a whole like the schools of minnows in the creek nearby or like in Finding Nemo (for those who have never personally observed creek or lake minnows). Then as quickly as they had started up, they settled down back into those fields awaiting their next surprise performance.

How kind of God to remind me of His promises with that little show.  Matthew 6:26 & Luke 12:24.  "Careless in the care of God" is what is written in bright red beside this passage of my Bible.  Who know when or where I heard that phrase but it definitely stuck.  If God cares so much about these annoying little birds that seem so simple (& are in utter abundance), how much more does He care for us who are made in His image? Look how many there are!!!!! Yet not one of them falls to the ground without God knowing.   "Are you not of much more value than they?"  Words that flood my soul with joy and gratitude every time.  God values me.  God will take care of me.  No matter what is happening or not happening in my life, I can rest because I am of great value to God, the Creator & Sustainer of the universe.  As are you. : )

"My soul finds rest in God alone,
 My Rock and my salvation,
A fortress strong against my foes,
 And I will not be shaken.
Though lips may bless and hearts may curse,
 And lies like arrows pierce me,
I’ll fix my heart on righteousness,
I’ll look to Him who hears me.

Find rest, my soul, in God alone
Amid the world’s temptations;
When evil seeks to take a hold
I’ll cling to my salvation.
Though riches come and riches go,
Don’t set your heart upon them;
The fields of hope in which I sow
Are harvested in heaven.

I’ll set my gaze on God alone,
And trust in Him completely;
With every day pour out my soul,
And He will prove His mercy.
Though life is but a fleeting breath,
A sigh too brief to measure,
My King has crushed the curse of death
And I am His forever.

O praise Him, hallelujah, My Delight and my Reward;
Everlasting, never failing, My Redeemer, my God."

Yesterday's Treasures

As I promised earlier, these are the items that I wanted to share along with the ideas that come with them.

A white lace jacket/blouse that at the moment is very stiff, but that's where my mom and Oma come in! Hopefully they will have many secrets as to how to soften the stiffness out of this sucker.
A vintage collared shirt with super high sides.  Too interesting to pass up even though it does slightly smell...

A dress that is going to be a project. It was not what I expected, but because of its insane cheapness it was gambled upon...
And yay!  A new belt!  Now we shall see when these items actually get worn...

Intro

Don't get all excited on me already just because of the background, it is totally just one of the many incredible choices google gives you when you sign up. No big deal.  Anyways... the inspiration for this blog began almost a year ago and came to fruition last night at about midnight with the thought of "why not?" being the resounding butt kick that I needed for getting started. (Plus some really sweet finds that I NEED to share with people who will appreciate them, even though it may just be 5 of my friends). The writing though may actually date back to Jr. High when I began my first journal.  The inspiration behind that one? My first remembered crush.  Oh the things that inspire us. Laughable to one but a door of friendship to another.  As for the location of my finds...I prefer to keep that a secret for now.  As the oldest of quite of few, I know how NOT to share pretty well, so enjoy the photos and thoughts that do get shared because they are treasured ones!
